This book is a lucid introduction to the essential features of religions of the world. It is divided into chapters for monotheistic beliefs, including Judaism, Christianity and Islam; Asian religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucian-ism and Taoism; and Korean religions such as shamanism, Chondogyo (Religi-on of Heavenly Way), Jung San Do and Won-Buddhism. Its review of Korea’s religious and cultural tradition is especi-ally noteworthy considering how most books on world religions ignore the nation’s religious history, not to mention its native faiths.
